Basic Tools Required for Baking

We tried our best to find a ready to read article on the most basic tools required for beginners in baking to post on our Facebook community BakeEscape, but since we were unable to find one, we are writing it down ourselves.  So here it is...our first info blog on baking!

1. Mixing bowls - regular steel / glass bowls. Usually we need two; one to mix wet ingredients and the other for the dry ingredients which is ideally bigger in size so that you can mix the wet ingredients into it later.

2. Measuring spoons and cup - measurements play a very important role in baking so make sure you buy this before you start as this is something we don't use for regular cooking and not everyone would have it in their kitchen.

3. Grinder / blender - this is more occasionally to grind sugar and sometimes to blend or grind any fruit or flavour you are incorporating in your bake.

4. Sieve - a big size steel or food grade plastic sieve.

5. Spatula - regular steel or silicon spatulas to mix the ingredients.

6. Baking bowl / tin - a square, rectangular or circular container made of heat resistant glass / non-stick / silicon or aluminium

7. Oven or Pressure cooker -  an oven or cooker big enough to place an 8" container.

We have noted the most basic kitchen tools required to start baking at home. These may simply be things that you use for your day-to-day cooking, hence you would not have to buy specific things to start baking. Though if you want to try advanced skills in baking like working on fondants, icing and breads then you can go through the blog link below:
